Our Story

Now proudly based in the heart of Darwin, Northern Territory, NINja Ink Tattoo is the creative brainchild of Nini Beltran-Bullard and Jack Bullard. Located in our modern flagship studio at Jape Village, Millner, we combine inspired custom design with high-quality care and spirited service. Every tattoo is executed with the utmost precision, from the initial consultation and custom design until the ink has perfectly healed.

NINja Ink Tattoo has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 2013. Jack and Nini started in a spare room of their two-bedroom apartment before taking the leap in 2014 to open their first professional studio in Hanoi—a risk that paid off in spades. Today, our Darwin tattoo shop continues that legacy of excellence, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and premium vegan inks in a clean, sophisticated, and artistic space.

Part of the NINja Ink ethos is breaking outdated stereotypes. We believe that world-class body art should be accessible to people from all walks of life. Our diverse clientele includes everyone from healthcare professionals and corporate executives to educators and creatives. Whether you are looking for vibrant watercolour, detailed realism, polynesian, tribal or fine-line tattoos in Darwin, you will find a welcoming, professional home at NINja Ink.

About: Our Tattoo Artists

At NINja Ink Tattoo, we treat every session like a partnership. Your goal and our goal are the same: to create a masterpiece in the most comfortable way possible. To ensure your experience at our Jape Village studio is world-class, please follow our "NINja Etiquette" guide.

1. The Golden Rule: Be Prepared

  • Know Your Vision: Have a solid idea of what you want. Browse our portfolios or bring reference photos. The more clearly you can describe your dream tattoo, the better we can design it.

  • Trust the Experts: You are paying for professional artistry. If Nini or Jack gives you advice on placement, size, or color saturation, it’s to ensure your tattoo looks amazing for decades—not just days.

  • Hygiene Matters: Please shower before your appointment. Tattooing is an intimate process; being fresh and clean makes the session better for everyone!

2. Respect the Craft

  • Come Sober: We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for alcohol or drugs. Being under the influence thins your blood (causing heavy bleeding) and prevents you from making sound decisions. If you've been drinking, we will not tattoo you.

  • Don't "Price Shop": As the saying goes: “Good tattoos aren’t cheap, and cheap tattoos aren’t good.” Haggling is disrespectful to the artist's years of training. If you have a specific budget, let’s chat privately about how to work within it over multiple sessions.

  • Be Serious About Custom Art: Our artists spend hours drawing. Please only request custom designs if you are ready to book.

3. Studio Decorum

  • Fly Solo: Space is limited in our sterile work zones. Please don't bring a "cheering section." While one calm friend is usually okay, a crowd is a distraction.

  • No Kids, Please: A tattoo studio is an adult environment with sharp objects and hazardous materials. For their safety and our focus, please find a sitter for the little ones.

  • Listen to Your Body: If you feel faint, "green," or nauseous, tell us immediately. Don't try to tough it out. We are pros and know exactly how to help.

4. Tipping & Appreciation

In the tattoo industry, artists do not receive an hourly wage; they earn a percentage of the tattoo cost. If you love your new ink and received exceptional service, a tip is the best way to show it.

  • 10% is a kind gesture.

  • 15–20% is standard for great work.

  • Can’t tip today? No worries—just let your artist know! A 5-star Google review or a shoutout on Instagram also goes a long way.
